FIELD DAY aka RED AND BLUE DAY

Red and Blue Day was a tradition at Concord Academy dating back to the mid 1900s. The tradition faded when the school went co-ed, but was something that many current senior classes had wanted to bring back but never did. During my time as Student Head of School, this was definitely something I wanted to implement and worked hard to resurrect. The entire day was a complete surprise to the student body and a surprise assembly was called to break the news to everyone.
The day consisted of an outdoor BBQ, game rotations that were tailored to athletic and mental skills and abilities, a tug of war bracket, and a local food truck to end the day. I'm proud to say that this day has now become an annual tradition at Concord Academy.

Games/Challenges: 1 mile race/"marathon" to kick off the day, tug of war bracket, game rotations: "Pirate's Gold" (steal balls in front of a blind folded faculty member with a squirt gun, avoid being sprayed), Bucket Brigade sponge relay, canoe pushing relay, and puzzle scavenger hunt.
